In the past several months, with a pandemic confining people to their homes, the use of social media has spiked. Since the viral footage George Floyd’s death in May showed millions of people the reality of police brutality and systemic racism in the United States, social media activism has also risen to new heights. As protests rocked the country, several individuals channeled their emotions into art that was shared on social media, while others used these platforms to educate.. In this video, we explore some of the many ways in which artists and activists have used social media as a tool for social change, and thus honor the work that they have produced.
